Instagram Affiliate Programs: Earn on Myntra and Flipkart
Indian creators can now tag Myntra and Flipkart products on Instagram posts and Reels and earn on each sale. How to join, how tagging works, what to check.
For most of the last few years, earning on these two stores meant workarounds. Myntra had no sign-up page at all, only Glam Clan inside its own app. Flipkart's affiliate site turned most new creators away, so they went through a network and gave up part of every commission.
In 2026 both moved inside Instagram, which is where most creators were already recommending the products.
#What changed in 2026
Three announcements, months apart, added up to the program creators can join today.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| April 2026 | Instagram switched on affiliate tagging in Reels in India, alongside the US, Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand. Creators add products while sharing, up to 30 on one Reel. |
| June 2026 | Flipkart Group, which owns Flipkart and Myntra, joined Meta as an affiliate partner. It launched on Facebook first, with Instagram as the next phase. |
| October 2026 | Myntra went fully live on Instagram. It reported over 1 million sign-ups in the first month and 200,000 creators already posting tagged content. |
Flipkart said from the start that the program is open to micro and nano creators, not only established influencers. Neither store has published a follower minimum.
#How to join
Switch to a professional account
Affiliate programs sit in the professional dashboard, so a personal account never sees them. A creator account is the usual choice.
Open Affiliate programs
Professional dashboard, then Monetisation tools, then Affiliate programs. The stores open to your account are listed there. If one is missing, it has not reached your account yet.
Apply to the store
Pick Myntra or Flipkart and follow its sign-up. Each store runs its own approval and sets its own terms, so read the commission and payout details on that screen before you accept.
#How tagging works
Once you are approved, tagging happens at the moment you share. Choose to add products, then search the store's catalogue or paste a product link. A Reel can carry up to 30 products.
When a follower taps the tag, they land on the store's own app or website and buy there. The sale is credited to you because it started from your tag.
Three habits make the difference between a tag that earns and one that doesn't:
- Tag the exact item. The product you are wearing or using, not the category it belongs to. Someone who taps wants that thing, not a search page.
- Say it in the video. "Shirt's tagged" in the first seconds does more than a perfect tag nobody notices.
- Post into the sales. Myntra told creators they could earn up to three times more during its Big Fashion Festival, because buyers are already looking.
#Myntra: Instagram and Glam Clan are two programs
They are easy to confuse, and you can be in both.
Glam Clan lives inside the Myntra app. You get in by posting good photos of things you bought, and three approved posts unlock tracked links with a commission set by your tier. The full Glam Clan guide has the tiers, the MynCash rewards and the payout cycle.
The Instagram program runs through Meta. You apply from your professional dashboard and earn on products you tag in your own posts and Reels.
The difference that matters: Glam Clan rewards content posted inside Myntra, shown to Myntra's shoppers. The Instagram program rewards content posted to your own audience. If your followers already ask where your clothes are from, the Instagram program pays you for answering.
#Flipkart: the door that was shut
For years Flipkart's own affiliate program was closed to most new creators. Its sign-up page existed, but new applications mostly went nowhere, so creators who wanted to earn on Flipkart joined a network that issues the links for them and gave the network a share.
The Meta partnership changes that. Flipkart launched it on Facebook in June 2026 and it has since reached Instagram, so you can apply to Flipkart from the same Affiliate programs screen as Myntra and tag its products directly.
Flipkart's catalogue is broad - electronics, home, beauty, fashion - and its commission varies by category. Electronics typically pays the least across the industry, because the stores' own margins are thin. Check the rate the program shows you for the categories you actually post about.
#Disclose it, the same as any affiliate link
A tagged product earns you money, so the post is an ad. Meta treats content carrying affiliate links as branded content, which is what the paid partnership label is for. In India, ASCI also expects your own words: put #ad at the start of the caption, not at the end or only in your bio. The disclosure guide has the exact wording.
How do I join Instagram's affiliate program in India?
Switch to a professional account, then open Professional dashboard, Monetisation tools, Affiliate programs. Pick the store you want, such as Myntra or Flipkart, and follow its sign-up. Each store approves creators and sets its own terms.
Can I earn from Flipkart on Instagram?
Yes. Flipkart joined Meta's affiliate partnership in June 2026, starting on Facebook, and it has since reached Instagram. You apply from the Affiliate programs screen in your professional dashboard and tag Flipkart products in your posts and Reels.
Is Myntra's Instagram program the same as Glam Clan?
No. Glam Clan runs inside the Myntra app and is entered by posting product photos there. The Instagram program runs through Meta and pays on products you tag in your own Instagram posts and Reels. You can be in both.
How much commission does Instagram's affiliate program pay?
It depends on the store and the product category. The store sets the rate and shows it in the program before you accept, and the store's program pays the commission, not Instagram.
Do I need a minimum number of followers?
Neither Myntra nor Flipkart has published one, and Flipkart describes the program as open to micro and nano creators. The program screen in your dashboard tells you whether your account can apply.
How many products can I tag on one Reel?
Up to 30. Tag the exact items you show, because a viewer who taps wants the thing they just saw.
Do I still need to disclose tagged products?
Yes. Use Instagram's paid partnership label and also write #ad at the start of your caption. In India, ASCI treats a platform's label as an addition to your own disclosure, not a replacement for it.
The short version: open Affiliate programs in your professional dashboard, apply to Myntra and Flipkart, tag the exact items you show, and say it's an ad.
