The Nykaa Affiliate Program: What It Actually Pays

Nykaa's own program pays a flat 8% on every category. The networks reselling it pay less. The rate, the 48-hour window, TDS and the real payout wait.

Search for the Nykaa affiliate rate and you get five different numbers: 9%, 7.2%, 6.8%, 5.04%, 5%. None of them are typos, and none of them are quite lying.

They are quotes from different places you can join the same program - and the gap between them is money.

#Direct pays more than the resellers

There are two ways to promote Nykaa, and they pay differently.

Direct, through NAP. Nykaa's own affiliate program. Its documentation states a fixed commission structure of 8% across all categories, including new and repeat users.

Through an affiliate network. Cuelinks, EarnKaro, INRDeals and similar platforms carry Nykaa as one campaign among hundreds. They are resellers: they hold the relationship with Nykaa and pass a share to you. Cuelinks publishes Nykaa at up to 5.04% per sale with a 7-day cookie. Other networks land between 5% and 7%.

The "up to 9%" figure that appears in a lot of articles is a network's promotional ceiling, not a rate you should plan on.

Two consequences worth spelling out:

  • A flat rate is genuinely rare. Most programs pay a headline rate on a new customer and a fraction of it on a returning one. Amazon varies its rate by category instead. Nykaa doing neither means you can work out your earnings from order value alone.
  • Beauty is a repeat-purchase category. Someone who buys a serum on your link buys it again. On a program that discounts repeat customers, that second purchase is worth a quarter of the first. Here it is worth the same.

#The 48-hour window is the real constraint

This is the detail that costs people commission, and it is not a cookie duration in the usual sense.

Nykaa's own wording: any product added to cart through your affiliate link within 48 hours is credited to your affiliate ID.

Two hours short of two days, against a category where people deliberate. Compare that with the 30 days Amazon-style programs allow, or even the 7 days Cuelinks applies to the same store.

The window has to overlap the moment someone decides. A short one only pays when the decision was already made before they tapped, which limits what is worth recommending here.

What that changes:

  • Link the product, not the homepage. A homepage link asks someone to search, browse and decide inside 48 hours. A product link asks them to add one thing to a cart.
  • Link when intent is highest. A tutorial where you name the exact product converts inside the window. A "my favourites" list someone saves for later mostly does not.
  • Sale weeks are worth disproportionately more. Pink Friday and similar events compress deliberation into exactly the window you have.

#Joining

There is a real registration page - which matters, because the Myntra program has none and the two get confused constantly.

  1. Open the sign-up page

affiliate.nykaa.com/register. Joining is free, and nothing is payable at any stage.

  2. Say who you are and where you publish

Name, email, phone, and the social profiles or blog you post to. These are checked, so list the accounts you actually use.

  3. Pick your categories

The parts of the catalogue your audience cares about - skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance.

  4. Add your payment and tax details

PAN and a bank account. What comes off each payment is in Getting paid below.

  5. Wait for the review

A person reads it. Allow up to two weeks; a confirmation email arrives when your profile clears.

  6. Generate your first link

In the dashboard: name the link, paste the Nykaa product URL, generate, copy. Reports sit under Reports → Orders and Traffic.

There is a follower bar: roughly 5,000. NAP is open to creators with about 5K followers and above, with genuine organic reach rather than bought numbers.

A network will take you at any size. So if you are below the bar, an aggregator is your way in - lower rate, but today.

#Getting paid, and what comes off first

Three deductions and one wait, in the order they hit you.

Returns and cancellations. Commission is on orders that stick. In beauty this is milder than fashion, but shade mismatches are the return that matters here.

5% TDS. Deducted from every payment, mandatorily. This is tax withheld against your PAN, not a fee - you reconcile it when you file - but it means the number that reaches your bank is 5% below the commission you were shown.

Paperwork that can hold the payment. PAN details are mandatory. Bank details and a cancelled cheque are required. If you are GST-registered you must raise a GST invoice before the payment is processed.

Then the wait. The cycle runs monthly. You get a statement by the end of the earning month plus 45 days, and payment lands 15 to 20 days after that. So March's commission arrives at the end of May.

One more rule that catches people: only 10 self-orders are allowed per year per affiliate. Buying through your own link is not a strategy here.

#Is it worth joining?

Yes, if beauty is part of what you talk about, and you clear the follower bar. A flat 8% with no repeat-customer penalty, in a category people buy again, in the market Nykaa dominates - and going direct means keeping all of it rather than a network's share.

The 48-hour window is the thing to design around. It rewards a specific product named at the moment someone is deciding, and pays almost nothing for a general list saved for later.

What commission does Nykaa pay?

Nykaa's own affiliate program (NAP) states a fixed 8% across all categories, for both new and repeat customers. Affiliate networks reselling the same program pay less - Cuelinks lists up to 5.04% per sale - because they take a share. The "up to 9%" figure in many articles is a network's promotional ceiling.

How do I join the Nykaa affiliate program?

Register free at affiliate.nykaa.com/register. You describe what you publish and where, pick your categories, and add payment and tax details. Approval is a manual review, so it is not immediate.

How many followers do I need for the Nykaa affiliate program?

Around 5,000. NAP is open to creators with roughly 5K followers and above, and the account has to be genuine with organic reach - the social and blog details you submit are checked. Below that, join through a network like EarnKaro or Cuelinks instead, which have no follower bar.

How long does a Nykaa affiliate link stay tracked?

48 hours, and it is an add-to-cart window rather than a purchase window: a product added to the cart through your link within 48 hours is credited to you. That is much shorter than the 7 to 30 days most programs allow.

When does Nykaa pay affiliate commission?

Monthly, but with a long lag. You receive a statement by the end of the earning month plus 45 days, and payment follows 15 to 20 days later - so a sale in March reaches your bank around the end of May.

Is TDS deducted from Nykaa affiliate payments?

Yes. 5% TDS is deducted from every payment and is mandatory. It is tax withheld against your PAN rather than a platform fee, so it is reconciled when you file, but it does reduce what arrives.

Can I buy through my own Nykaa affiliate link?

Only within limits - the program allows a maximum of 10 self-orders per year per affiliate. It is not a way to earn on your own shopping.

Should I join Nykaa directly or through a network like EarnKaro or Cuelinks?

Directly, if Nykaa is a store you recommend often, because the direct rate is higher. Networks are worth using for breadth - one login covering hundreds of stores - rather than for a better rate on this one.

In short: join NAP directly, link individual products rather than the homepage, and expect a two-month wait with 5% withheld. The rate is good. The window is short. Design for the window.
